Day Five

Still water-fasting. 132

Feeling very good today. I'm not hungry but the smell of food gets to me. Maybe I should rephrase that - I don't feel hungry.

More importantly than weight - my tongue had a light coat on it this morning instead of that gross thick white one... TMI?? Oh, and the scale did move this morning. Down two pounds from day two, so with no loss yesterday, today makes up for it... follow me??

My sense of smell is extraordinary right now. I almost passed out last night in yoga class from everyone's breath. It's so strange!

Advice? You've got to stick with something for the whole time. If one is going to water-fast for 14 days, then make sure the goal is reached before moving on to something else.

If one wants to go back to Low-Carb after fasting, then stick with low carb and do induction (South Beach / Atkins ) for the full 14 days. Any way of eating WORKS if you stick with it. If a person goes raw, then stick with raw. Low-Carb, stay Low-Carb. Low-Fat, then stick with Low-Fat... so on and so forth. Bouncing around with different types of eating will have a serious impact on our bodies and noticeable fluctuations in weight.

Great example: I've found it quite difficult to stay with raw eating, as much as I like it. Once I start eating all of those amazing sweet vegetables and fruits then I have some trail mix, then it moves to one cheat and it's all over!

Day Four

Still water-fasting. 133

Last night after teaching my TBC class, I came home, opened the door and the smell of garlic and baked chicken filled my nostrils - permeating my entire body. Normally my hubby is very considerate of my fasting. Last night he “didn’t have time” to get his cooking and eating done before I got home. He turned on the oven fan and opened all the doors in the house to try to get the smell out… all it did was make the smell drift further up my nose. When his meal was done he took it out on the back patio to eat. Thank goodness. Food is one temptation that I cannot face right now. I am avoiding it constantly.

I have a little bit of a headache this morning. I may be dehydrated so I’m going to make myself a cup of herbal tea and follow it with as much water will fit into my stomach.

I met a very nice person from Malyasia at the beginning of the year and she has offered to vacation with my husband and I on a local island. The scuba diving is fabulous and I am really looking forward to the trip! I’d like to go this summer but have asked her to give me the most appropriate travel times in regard to weather and such.

Day Three

Still water-fasting. 134

I have a birthday party to attend on Friday night and the birthday boy is a chef. *ugh* I'm going to avoid the food as much as possible, bring water and ask for tea as soon as I get there. It's funny. People look at you like you're crazy if you don't eat anything, but if you ask for a cup of tea, everything is normal. ??

Last night I tried a peice of sugar-free gum when I got home from work. It tasted so wonderful but it led from one peice to another-to another until I had chewed so much gum that my jaw was hurting. It didn't actually start any hunger pains, but I'll have to be careful about 'binging' on gum.

Day Two

It has helped me immensely to keep thinking "this is temporary." I will eat again, just not today - or tomorrow...

I have the additional incentive of family coming to visit. I simply cannot look so gross when my Aunt arrives. I love her to pieces and she is very into fitness, so I want to look and feel my best. I have to be able to keep up with her!

Today I started to get a headache around 1:30. I know I'm not supposed to be taking anything for my ailments, but I simply cannot function with my head throbbing so I tried a couple Tylenol. Seems to be helping.

Oh, Happy Valentine's Day to me! (and to you, too)!!

Day One on Day Two

Ok, Day One (again) was yesterday and I am quite happy to say that I made it all the way through!

Around 1:30 I was going strong with no signs of hunger but I was feeling very fatigued. I kept bobbing and nodding at my desk which is bad since I had so much work to get done. I drank more cold water and made some tea.

At 3:00 I had a miserable, raging headache going on. I took two Excedrine Migraine (the only OTC remedy that will fix it) and drank more water.

I ended up going home at 4:00 (no lunch), laid down and took a nap before I had to teach aerobics.

All went well. I made it through a high intensity class and also through my teacher training.

On My Umpteenth "Day One"

Feeling run-down health-wise and weight-wise. The sad thing is, I know what to do to fix it but I cannot even make it through "Day One" and get the plan going.

I find it very frustrating. I'm the type of person that sets goals and achieves them...

Day One. Nine hours to go.
